Cello Metallers Apocalyptica’s X96 Interview and performance footage
If you haven’t heard about these guys you’ve been living under a rock!If that term “Cello Metal” doesn’t catch your attention,you everything but metal.Ok,well,not really but let’s not go there.I love it when bands/artistes bring other musical elements in to Heavy Metal and probably that’s why I love Symphonic Metal so much,and some Prog Metal acts like Dream Theatre and Planet X who bring a lot of Jazz and Blues and other elements to “our” Metal,you don’t want me to go more into it do you?I’ll save that for another post.Oh but have to mention Opeth,we love you!!!
Anyway,back to the topic.If you don’t know jack shit about Cello Metal and Apocalyptica you can read this post to educate you on that.
Apocalyptica did a short performance and interview at the studios of X96 in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 21, 2008.You can watch the videos here.They play a Cello version of their chart topper “I am not Jesus” which features SlipKnot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor and a classic Metallica cover of Nothing Else Matters.
