Is it just me hearing a solo in the new SlipKnot or are they really starting to make music?
Oh man!Hate to do this,but I really thought SlipKnot are still neck deep in their “1997 thing” but looks as if they’ve gained some sense and the new sample sounds actually bearable.I know samples don’t offer much but when was the last time you heard “this much” of a solo in SlipKnot?
Let’s keep the fun factor in this post and not go into the deep analytical mode,but for once I’d say SlipKnot seem to be realising that Nu-Metal is going down and the New Wave of ‘Merican Metal is stronger than its ever been.Ok,no way am I gonna compare SlipKnot with some of these bands but this single “All hope is gone” is bearable-in fact it sounds awesome.
Have a listen.But the cover artwork(This is so SEPULTURA) is still the classic “rip-off material” they are famous for(Mushroomhead fans,any comments?).

you know what Matt? (or mark)…it was a guy like you who made Maynard write the song ‘Hooker with a Penis’. I dont know whether you’ve even heard of em but still…
it remains the band’s right to change or evolve genres the way they see fit. If you dont agree with slipknot, well…try AHC. As for feeling betrayed because of the change of genre…well…are you a female? because that sounds so..”I-feel-betrayed-becuase-he-went-out-with-her” stuff.
