For some wierd reason I’ve been writing a lot about SlipKnot lately. It started out in a “not-so-good” way because I assmued SlipKnot were still heavily relying upon their “1997 image” which we grew out of when we were all 13 or 14.But with the release of “All hope is Gone” SlipKnot showed us that they have the maturity to something sensible than just play bull!

And now Psychosocial-the whole track is available for streaming through SlipKnot guitarist Mick Thomson’s myspace. You can listen to it here.

If you need an unbiased point of view about it-what I’ve got to say is-it’s pretty decent. It’s not phenominal, but it’s not utter shit either. It does have a lot of modern elements, but the way I see it-I think SlipKnot have done a pretty decent job incoporating both the modern element, with SlipKnot’s usual “Fuck you” attitude and some musical maturity-which Mick and Jim’s solos are resposible for!Yes, they are actually doing SOLOS!

I’ve always maintained that-for the better or worse-SlipKnot created and maintained a massively Cult-like following for them-which only a few bands like Slayer have. This is what has often driven me to write about SlipKnot here on Metal Cracker. No matter what you have to say-they’ve always delivered something worth talking about.

Let’s hear what you think.
