Steve Harris guests on Lauren Harris’ debut album-Why?
I have problems with this.I really have.
She calls it “Calssic British Rock” with a “Pop-Edge”.This is so wrong-
(a)If-for some wierd reason,or because she’s Steve Harris’ daughter-you’ve given her stuff a listen, you know the last thing it is,is Classic British Rock.Ok,Rolling Stones are classic British Rock, but Avril Lavigne rip-off.Nay,not so!
(b)If it has a pop edge it isn’t Classic British Rock.This may sound a bit extreme but when you are Steve Harris’ daughter,nothing is!
You don’t cover U.F.O when you know you look up to Avril Lavigne as an inspiration,when you have Maiden’s bassist right at home!Now, U.F.O are an English Hard Rock band,you got it right,but just because you cover their “Natural Thing ” or at least “attempt” to cover it,it doesn’t make you Classic British Hard Rock!
In the video interview below she goes on saying that Steve had said “Maiden audience loves melody and that’s what you (Lauren) have”-Maiden audience love melody and Maiden has it-no questions but has she really got melody in her???
I really don’t have anything against Lauren Harris or Steve Harris doing guest bass on her album.You gotta do what you gotta do and as a father I respect him for what he did-it’ll help her own daughter to sell more records( or will it?),but imagine if he did so for one of the amazing unsigned bands out there ripping their asses off trying to get their records pushed to the radio?
I’ve said it before,I say it again here-I really don’t have anything against Lauren Harris,she seems like a super cool person-but her music is not what you expect from Steve Harris’ daughter.I really wish this girl would do something sensible and play some proper music.

she’s a major pain in the @$$ man! When Maiden toured India, she opened for both the shows and she really sucks. The only good thing I can say about her is that she’s quite cute. But her music sucks.
