The new SlipKnot album will be so “1997″-well,presumably!
Many thanks to Blabbermouth reader Fire Face,you explained it perfectly!It’s so “1997″.Let me explain.
During the early days of SlipKnot-you know the SlipKnot/Iowa era-I hated everything,SlipKnot hated everything,I loved SlipKnot.(Quote-Disaster Piece/Iowa:”I wanna slit your throat and f*ck the wound…”)
Then,along came The Subliminal Verses-I still hated everything,SlipKnot loved everything,they became so “Kerrang!”,no I mean,Thirty Seconds to Mars,I hated it.(Quote-Vermilion/Volume 3:The Subliminal Verses:“I get nervous, perverse when I see her it´s worse….she’s coming home forever”)
And Shawn “Clown” Crahan(SlipKnot/Dirty Little Rabbits) has been talking so much “High school crap” lately.
“I can’t stress enough that we’re going into this from a different place” and “this” and “that” and their new masks and the unmasked videos and more new mask “teasers”….I mean aren’t you supposed to grow out of that when you are like 15,16?Oh,I loved this band so much earlier.I know they’ve never had the brutally technical “awesomeness” or the musical intelligence I see in Opeth or Dream Theatre or Planet X or….the list goes on….But I loved their London show(Thanks Abeef!),I loved loved their Tokyo show….basically,to keep it simple,I loved SlipKnot.
And now they’ve released this so called “snippet”,which is basically so “1997″(Thanks Fire Face once again,you are a genius with words!Why not a career in writing mate?)Watch it and you’ll see what I mean.
Oh man,there goes all my high hopes for the kick-ass album I was waiting for,to prove some of my friends SlipKnot are not “Alternative Rock”
