Warbringer-War Without End

Bands come and bands go.A few make it big and many don’t.Warbringer is one of the few new bands out there,to have proven that they have what it takes to cross the thin line that separates the bands from the “BANDS”!

Warbringer first made a statement with their music when they were featured on the thrash metal compilation album “Thrashing like a maniac-16 ripping cuts of new school thrash metal”.Then they released their E.P,”One by one the wicked fall”,which was loud enough to get the attention the band deserved from the metal underground.Since then, Warbringer have been unstoppable! They toured with thrash giants Exodus, and Technical Death Metallers Goatwhore and Arsis .And now with one hell of an album alongside their name(War Without End),Warbringer promises to deliver metal that’s so loud and angry, packed in their own packaging;combat thrash as they prefer to call it.And mark my word!Their music will blow you away!

“War Without End” provides undiluted, hardcore thrash metal from beginning to end.Needless to say, there’s a notable amount of Slayer influence, especially in the vocals and the song structures. But also, NWOBHM has made its way through, making a significant presence in Warbringer’s music. For instance, the combo guitar pieces in songs like “At the crack of Doom” and “Born of the ruins”, have added a Maiden-esque feel to their music, which is one of the key factors that separate Warbringer from the most genric thrash metal bands. Also they slightly maintain a some-what melodic element, which is again new to typical, genric thrash metal.

Warbringer have mastered the art of combining various other musical elements with their music, while still staying true to their thrashy roots. These unique features are clearly noticeable in songs like “Hell on Earth”.Don’t misunderstand the idea,Warbringer ain’t no bloody fusion band.(Bulldozer weren’t a freaking fusion band, but they were unique!)Warbringer plays plain, brutal thrash metal that kicks serious ass. It’s as simple as that. But honestly, the long pause in the beginning of “Dead Current”was really inappropriate. There are certain bands out there-like Opeth- who can do this sort of thing and walk out just fine. But Warbringer isn’t Opeth!Maybe after two or three more albums, but not right now!

Warbringer reffers to war a lot(obviously!)Ironically though, they have claimed quite a few times that their music hardly promotes political content. Also, let’s not forget what Warbringer frontman shared with MTV’s Headbangers’ blog;”War and thrash metal are like peanut-butter and jelly”.It is confusing.Nevertheless, the songs are musically and lyrically very metal. If “Total War” doesn’t sound very metal to you, you’ve been listening to something very different from the metal we know!

All in all,it is fair to say “War Without End” has what it takes to make a statement for itself. For instance albums like Slayer’s (1986) “Reign in blood” have helped redefine genres and thus many bands out there, are making a living out of what a 19″ inch Vinyl made them do!It’s not exaggeration to say that Warbringer has got the winning chemistry, and it will be only a matter of time to see Warbringer join the league with the big four and live “Hell on Earth”
